Friday, Saturday & Sunday, 9:00am to 4:00pm

Take your paintings to the next level!

Covers scene selection, sketching, dynamic underpaintings, the importance of correct values, painting versus drawing.

Daily demos and plenty of at-easel assistance

Weather permitting, we’ll paint several sessions outdoors. Indoor studio space is available if need be. Final day we’ll paint indoors from outdoor sketches and photos. Quick paint-along exercises to get your handling of the medium off to a great start.

Clark Mitchell is one of the top pastelists in California. He‘s been designated a Master Pastelist by the Pastel Society of America as well as a Distinguished Pastelist by the Pastel Society of the West Coast.

Mitchell's numerous awards include top prizes at the Laguna Beach Plein Air Festival, the Carmel Arts Festival, and Maui Plein Air Painting Invitational. His work has just been featured in an eight page article in the February 2020 Southwest Art.

Workshop Fee: $425 for current RAA members / $475 for non-members

Cancellation Refunds: Full refund of workshop fees will be made if you cancel your participation in the workshop 30 days or more before the start of the workshop. A 50% refund of fees will be made if you cancel within 7 to 30 days before start of the workshop. No refund will be made if you cancel within 7 days of start of the workshop, or if you do not show up or if you leave the workshop early for any reason.
