Board of Directors
The Redwood Art Association is governed by a Board of Directors responsible for management of the affairs of the organization, coordinating activities and making decisions about how the organization can best serve the membership and the community. It is a working board and members donate their time, skills and energy to present successful events and worthwhile activities.
The Board meets at 11:00AM on the second Friday of each month at the RAA Gallery. If you would like to communicate with the Board or a Board Member, you may send an email to email@example.com and your message will be forwarded.
The Officers and Directors for 2019 are:
David Boston, President
A photographer who has worked as a welder, nurse and grounds keeper at the Carson Hunting Lodge. Served on the RAA Board in the late 1980’s including President. Has work in public & private collections.
Erica Brooks, Vice President
Local artist and student. BFA from the East Coast, secondary art education teaching credential from HSU, and a MFA from Academy of Art San Francisco. Specializes in pet portrait commissions.
Lynn Niekrasz, Secretary
Retired from a 29-year career salon business. After eight years of studio and plein air study including workshops with Jim McVicker, she joined RAA and continues to learn from many of Humboldt’s gifted artists.
Amanda Morettini, Treasurer
Rowing coach at the Humboldt Bay Rowing Association. Received a Bachelors degree in Business with an emphasis in Accounting from HSU. Eureka native who loves creating art. Enjoys oil painting and pottery.
Retired from Strictly for the Birds in 2004, a business she founded. In addition to birds & nature, she loves being artistically creative and singing. She has been RAA newsletter editor and gift shop coordinator.
Former marketing, IT business analyst and process manager for an international transportation company. Discovered photography while stationed overseas, and is an active member of the Redwood Camera Club.
Received his MFA in sculpture from University of Notre Dame, is an associate faculty member at CR and a sculpture technician at HSU. Worked for an art residency program ACRE, and exhibited his art widely.
Art lover from Eureka who brings his experience and skills as a marketing professional and small business owner to the management of the Association. Has been a Director for 14 years, including 8 as President.
After 30 plus years as an educator, now explores color through sewing quilts. Since the world presents all sorts of ideas for quilts, her most useful tool, after the sewing machine, is a camera.
Retired private investigator living in the hills of southern Humboldt with wife Kate for 41 years. Became interested in art as a teenager and currently enjoys photography, painting with acrylics and woodworking.
Has an Applied Math Degree with a career as a hydrographic survey engineer updating nautical charts. Discovered his love for pastels after retirement. Enjoys landscape, still life and portraiture painting.
Holds a MA in Studio Art and Photography and a MFA in the History and Practice of Photography, has taught photography at the university level, and her photographs have been exhibited internationally.
Carol W Telesky
Retired Management Consultant. After 25 years as a botanical watercolorist, completed a second BA in Studio Art at HSU. Still learning to paint en plein air. Special interest in RAA operating effectively.
